Unitex high-end fabric plant worth about VND 608 billion to be built in Du Long Industrial Park

On 21 August, the Khanh Hoa Economic Zones and Industrial Parks Management Board approved the Unitex Vietnam High-End Fabric Manufacturing Plant in Du Long Industrial Park – another large textile project choosing Du Long as its destination.

Project highlights

• Investor: Bangshi (BVI) Co., Ltd.; the project will be implemented through a planned entity, Unitex Vietnam Co., Ltd.
• Investment: about VND 608.7 billion (about USD 23.45 million).
• Location: lot C7 and part of lot C8, Du Long Industrial Park, about 3.29 ha.
• Products: knitted fabrics from polyester and nylon blended with spandex, and other fabrics for garments and export; capacity about 10.8 million m² per year.
• Technology: knitting, high-pressure jet dyeing, automated finishing, digital colour measurement and matching; an 800 m³/day wastewater treatment system.
• Schedule: construction from October 2026, completion in 2027, expected operation from December 2027.
• Workforce: about 204 people at full operation.

What does a textile dyeing plant need from its power supply?

Knitting, dyeing and finishing lines typically run continuously across several shifts, with many motors, dyeing machines, dryers and a wastewater treatment system. A textile dyeing plant therefore needs:

• Stable, continuous power: an outage in the middle of a dyeing batch can ruin an entire lot of fabric.
• A correctly sized substation from day one, taking future expansion into account.
• Good power quality: many motors and drives can lower the power factor (cos φ), leading to reactive power charges without proper capacitor banks.
• Lower energy costs and green credentials demanded by export brands.
